Expanding Healthcare Access
SLUHC aims to significantly increase health coverage in Saint Lucia, from fewer than one-quarter. This includes providing essential coverage to seniors who often lack access to health insurance, individuals with preexisting conditions, and those without health care coverage who frequently face limited access to care.
The UHC Model
SLUHC is more than just a program; it’s a unifying force that consolidates resources from the private and public sectors. By organizing healthcare providers into a singular, collaborative network, the SLUHC ensures stability in healthcare funding, enabling access to quality care for all.
Eligibility for SLUHC
All citizens and legal residents of Saint Lucia are eligible beneficiaries. Visitors and expatriates will have the option to purchase coverage, ensuring inclusivity for all segments of society, from infants to seniors, regardless of socio-economic status or pre-existing conditions.
SLUHC Status Update
The project was officially launched on 1st June 2023 with Maternal and Child Health Services, Cervical Cancer Screening and HPV testing on 2nd August 2024, relaunching of the Men’s Clinic 2nd December 2024 and Snake Bite Prevention and Treatment on 13th February 2025.
